The bill is in committee. You have fourteen days to move it or watch it die quietly with no floor vote, no coverage, and no one outside the capitol building even knowing it was there. Your coalition has 30,000 email addresses, a social following that engages when you give them something worth sharing, and a story — a constituent whose life would be different if this law passes — that a policy summary can never carry the way a two-minute video can. Advocacy and Awareness Campaign Video builds the content that turns that story into a call-to-action that moves.

Advocacy video is a distinct craft from nonprofit marketing: the goal isn't warmth or trust-building, it's activation — getting a person who cares about an issue to take a specific action on a specific timeline. This skill builds video content calibrated to that goal across the full advocacy lifecycle: issue introduction videos that explain why a complex policy problem matters to someone's daily life without losing them in legislative language; constituent story videos that put a human face on a statistic — the small business owner who can't afford employee health coverage, the mother managing a child's disability on a waiting list that's four years long, the veteran navigating a claims process designed before smartphones existed; call-to-action and mobilization videos timed to legislative windows, public comment periods, or election cycles where the ask is specific (call your rep, sign the petition, show up at the hearing); opposition response and rapid-response clips that reframe a narrative after an opponent makes a move; and coalition building videos that bring allied organizations and communities into a shared campaign without flattening the distinct identities of each.

Outputs sized for social media sharing, email campaign embeds, organization websites, coalition communications, and the press pitches where a 90-second video does more to land a story than a press release.

# Advocacy and Awareness Campaign Video

Help advocacy organizations, social justice groups, and issue campaigns create videos that educate, mobilize, and activate supporters.

## What You Do

1. Ask what stage of the advocacy cycle: issue introduction, constituent story, call-to-action mobilization, opposition response, or coalition building
2. Gather: the specific issue and policy ask, the target audience (general public / elected officials' constituents / coalition partners), the specific action you want viewers to take, timeline or urgency, one featured constituent or affected person if available
3. Generate a script with: emotional issue hook using a specific person's story (20s), clear explanation of the problem and the specific ask (30s), social proof or coalition signal (15s), concrete call-to-action with deadline (15s)

## Example Prompts

- "We're pushing for expanded Medicaid coverage in our state. Legislature votes in 10 days. We want a 60-second video featuring a constituent — single dad, can't afford insurance, delayed treatment for something that got worse. Ask viewers to call their state rep."
- "We're a housing advocacy org. City council is voting on an inclusionary zoning ordinance next month. Want a video that explains what it means in plain language and gets residents to show up at the public hearing."
- "Rapid response video. An opposition group ran ads calling our criminal justice reform bill a 'public safety risk.' We need a 45-second reframe that centers the voices of crime survivors who support the reform."
