- Common nouns (50): food, water, person, house, car, time, day, money, phone, street
- Numbers: 1-100
- Question words: who, what, where, when, why, how, how much
- Time words: today, tomorrow, yesterday, now, later, morning, night
The 80/20 Rule of Vocabulary
- The most common 1,000 words cover ~85% of everyday conversation
- The most common 3,000 words cover ~95%
- Focus on frequency, not obscure vocabulary

Start simple, add complexity:
